The success of Senova continues with the addition of 4 new varieties to the HGCA Recommended List for 2010/2011.
Soft Group 4 wheat Beluga joins the list as the highest yielding soft wheat and produces excellent alcohol yields making it a potentially important variety for the distilling and bioethanol markets. Conventional oilseed rape Fashion produces gross outputs some 6% ahead of the most widely grown variety, Castille.
Two winter oats bred by IBERS have also joined the new list - Balado is a husked oat which raises husked oat yields to a new level, 5% ahead of the next variety Tardis and some 9% ahead of milling favourite Gerald. Fusion is added to the RL as a result of its better quality, which is a key requirement of this premium grain market.
Our Oat Forum is now up and running.Growers and advisors can share experiences and information to help optimise the oat crop and its profitability. To join the Senova Oat Forum click here. Registration is quick and easy.
